When Maribeth Clark was driving to SeaTac for an important flight to see her husband, a car swerved across 4 lanes of traffic and slammed into her vehicle, sending her crashing into the barrier. The accident was incredibly frightening and left Maribeth with a serious traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Unfortunately, like many TBI sufferers, Maribeth didn’t realize the extent of her injury at first, thinking that her symptoms would go away in a few days.
Her first priority was getting to her husband, who was in Arizona at the time, and this trip was important to them both, so despite her initial symptoms, she finished driving to SeaTac and got on that plane.
Only a few days later, Maribeth continued to struggle with symptoms that were clearly worsening. She sought medical attention, but she also knew about TBIs and their lasting impact—she knew she needed to contact an attorney.
That’s when she reached out to the Brain Injury Law Seattle team, with whom she was very familiar.

Choosing Brain Injury Law
“I knew Brain Injury Law to have an incredibly good team,” Maribeth said. “I knew that they take great care of their clients and aren’t afraid of taking cases to court if necessary.”
From the beginning, Maribeth says she felt supported and secure in her choice. She was impressed by how the team took over all the difficult steps of her case:
“I was going to lots of doctor visits and dealing with insurance companies, all while having a traumatic brain injury. But the team at Brain Injury Law said, ‘You just make sure that everything comes straight to us. We’ll take care of it. We don’t want you to have to worry about that.’”
This level of care and support was incredibly meaningful to Maribeth as she focused on her own healing:
“They went out of their way to make sure to take care of me as a person. Someone on their team even drove over to Wenatchee from Seattle to accompany me to a doctor’s appointment that one of the insurance companies requested, just to make sure that I was comfortable and okay.”
Thorough Investigation and Preparation
Maribeth was also impressed by the depth of research and investigation the Brain Injury Law team conducted on her case.
They uncovered issues with the insurance company’s past practices that could negatively impact the outcome of the trial. This allowed them to build a stronger case and ultimately secure a favorable settlement for Maribeth.
“I was so impressed by how far they went,” she said, “which was very important given that the whole process took so long—5 years.”
Confidence in the Right Choice
For Maribeth, the settlement has opened up new possibilities and allowed her and her husband to retire safely, secure that even the possibility that she might not be able to perform at work as she once did was no longer a factor.
What the team at Brain Injury Law Seattle takes the most pride in is not the financial aspect, but the fact that their client felt taken care of and ultimately had a good outcome despite an awful situation.
